Introduction

Hello everyone I'm your host Kevin. I've been studying Japanese for about a year now mainly through the use of Anime. Am I fluent in Japanese? No. Can I hold a conversation with a Japanese person and understand anime without the use of subtitles? Yes!

Let's get the first point out of the way, no you cannot learn Japanese by JUST watching anime. Although it can be your main study method! I'm just like you (probably) extremely lazy and I get bored easily. I knew (because I tried before) that there was no way I was going to gain a mastery of this language by sitting down and reading language books. One reason of course is because they are BORING! You can't expect yourself to take in any information when you are bored out of your skull and not interested in what you are doing~~ Another reason I didn't want to study from these is because they are written by people who already know the language. When you are fluent in a language you forget HOW you learned the language and sometimes you don't know WHY something is the way it is, it just sounds wrong any other way. This is why I decided to study Japanese through anime.

You can learn Japanese through anime as well if you just go about it the right way. I encourage you to read on if you have always been interested in learning the language but never thought it would be possible without going to school.
